About Loomagoo
Loomagoo is an online service created to connect students. Using classified listings, students can:
- Buy and Sell old textbooks
- Upload and Share notes, study guides, and supplemental learning material with classmates
Students at Loyola University New Orleans became aware of a growing problem facing college students. Books were getting too expensive, and students deserved an alternative. Loomagoo was built in three weeks and went live in November of 2008.
Our goal is to bring the social network into the classroom. We want to give our users the tools to exchange knowledge and information instantaneously, and we want to give it them for free.
Textbooks
As bookstore prices become increasingly expensive, students need a way to exchange, or “recycle,” their books. Loomagoo creates a forum for textbook trading, allowing students to set their own price and negotiate an exchange.
Notes
We want to create a continuous flow of information between students. Loomagoo allows students to upload and share notes and study guides by providing permanent online storage space; accessible by anyone, anytime!
Future Plans
We want to create and inspire change on college campuses by encouraging student-student collaboration through the web. As we continue to improve and innovate; we are very much guided by our philosophy of simplicity. We want this to be helpful, and we want it to be easy.
Contact
Though a majority of our ideas are generated from within, we welcome any and all user suggestions. The site was built for you, let your voice be heard. Contact us with comments.
